Paris FC have entered the race to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, as the Premier League club step up efforts to offload the France international during the January transfer window.
Disasi, who has roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has struggled to secure a regular place at Stamford Bridge and is now expected to move on, having turned down a proposed exit last summer. Chelsea are keen to sell the centre-back outright, with a loan deal ruled out after the club reached its international loan limit.
That stance has opened the door for several European clubs, with Paris FC now joining Lyon, AC Milan and Roma in expressing interest in the 26-year-old defender.
Chelsea’s preference for a permanent transfer reflects both squad planning and financial considerations, particularly as Disasi remains under contract until the summer of 2029. The length of that deal means the London club are under no immediate pressure to sell, but are keen to resolve his future quickly.
Born in France to Congolese heritage, Disasi has represented France at senior international level, while often speaking proudly of his African roots. His physical presence and experience in both Ligue 1 and the Premier League continue to make him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen defensively.
Paris FC’s interest would offer Disasi a potential return to French football, while rivals in Italy and elsewhere remain alert to any movement in negotiations.
With January approaching, Chelsea’s challenge now is to find a buyer willing to meet their terms and for Disasi, the next move could prove crucial in reviving momentum in a career that has stalled in west London.
