German giants Bayern Munich are prepared to pay Marc Guehi a higher salary to complete the move to sign the England forward.
The Bundesliga champions are among the clubs leading the race to sign the centre-back with Ivorian roots next summer.
Reports indicate that Bayern are not alone in monitoring Guehi’s situation, with several top European clubs expressing interest in signing the Crystal Palace defender on a free transfer. However, one potential suitor has now been forced to step aside due to financial constraints.
According to Spanish sources, FC Barcelona are no longer in a position to pursue Guehi’s signature. The report suggests that discussions between the parties revealed a significant gap between financial expectations, effectively ruling the Catalan club out of the race.
In contrast, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are said to be prepared to meet Guehi’s demands by offering an attractive salary in order to gain the upper hand in negotiations. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, is reportedly planning further talks with the player’s representatives in the near future.
The report adds that Bayern could still push ahead with a move for Guehi even if Dayot Upamecano remains at the club, with Min-jae Kim believed to be among the players who could be considered for sale.
