French Ligue 1 giants, AS Monaco have decided not to sign Spain international of Guinea-Bissau descent Ansu Fati on a permanent deal.
The decision stem from the attacker’s recurring injuries, since joining the Principality club from Barcelona in the summer window. Fati’s high personal contract demands has reportedly dashed any hopes of a permanent acquisition.
The enterprising attacker’s fate at Monaco is essentially sealed, with the Monegasques having decided not to keep the 23-year-old Spaniard in their ranks at the end of his loan spell.
Fati joined Monaco in the summer from Barcelona on a one-year loan deal and has since managed 14 appearances, scoring 6 goals across the period.
Fati succumbed to injury in early December and has since not featured for the French Ligue 1 giants. Meanwhile, the timeline for his return to the pitch remains uncertain.
With Monaco deciding not to sign the forward on a permanent deal, Fati will return to Barcelona when the loan deal expires.
