Organizers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations had to get fans to the stadium by offering free entry to fill up the stadium for Group B opener between Egypt and Zimbabwe.

Before the commencement of the match, there were literally only a handful of people in the stands, forcing the organizers to take a bold step.

The match was held in Agadir at the Stade Adrar, and from the beginning, it sparked little excitement among the locals.

Seeing the disappointing turnout, the organizers decided to open free gate to allow fans fill the stadium, a move that paid off.

Before the closure of the match, over 30,000 fans had packed the stands, enjoying a football festival at no cost.

Both Egypt and Zimbabwe sold a beautiful match to football loving fans, keeping everyone on edge until the dying seconds.

The Pharaohs snatched victory from the underdog Zimbabwe side in the 92nd minute, thanks to a dramatic goal by Salah.

The Pharaohs, who are seeking for their eight AFCON title came from behind to secure a crucial victory. Manchester City star Omar Marmoush leveled the pegging for Egypt before Mohammed Salah scored deep into extra-time to secure victory for the North Africa country.
