An English report has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Egyptian attacker Omar Marmoush from Manchester City in the upcoming January transfer window.
Marmoush only joined City last January from Eintracht Frankfurt and impressed in the second half of last season with regular appearances, but his minutes have sharply decreased this campaign.
According to British outlet “TeamTalk”, Spurs have turned their attention to Marmoush after failing to land Brazilian winger Savinho from City last summer. The London club reportedly see the Egyptian as a realistic attacking reinforcement who can add depth and versatility to Ange Postecoglou’s frontline.
The report explains that Tottenham view Marmoush as an alternative to Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo, who is believed to prefer a move to Liverpool. It also notes that City boss Pep Guardiola wants to keep Marmoush at the Etihad despite not using him as a regular starter, while Spurs are pushing for a loan deal in January that includes an option to buy.
Tottenham plan to closely monitor Marmoush’s performances with Egypt at the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations before opening formal talks with Manchester City over a potential move.
