President of the Egyptian Football Association, Hani Abu Rida, has reiterated the sides’ determination ahead of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations opening clash against Zimbabwe.
The Pharaohs begin their quest for eight AFCON title on Monday evening against Zimbabwe after a long absence since the 2010 edition.
As the team gears up for the match, the Egyptian football leader has appealed to fans to support team, stressing players will do their utmost best to make them happy at the tournament.
“The players and the coaching staff, led by Hossam Hassan, are capable and determined to make the Egyptian people happy in this edition of the tournament, in which the Egyptian national team holds the record for the number of times it has been won.”
Meanwhile, Hani Abu Rida, insists the football association and the board are firmly behind the national team and are harnessing all their capabilities for the team, the players, and the coaching staff, in order to focus solely on the field and exert maximum effort to bring joy to the Egyptian people.
He stressed on the need to put aside any disagreements or pressures on the national team during this period, while promising to work to support the playing body to succeed at the continental showpiece.
