Nigeria Football Federation lift home ban on Kano Pillars and Katsina United
The Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has lifted its ban on Premier League clubs, Kano Pillars and Katsina United from using their home venues for matches.
Both Kano Pillars and Katsina United now returns to their home venue following the completion of their five-game home suspension.
Kano Pillars, four-time Nigerian champions, will resume matches at the Sani Abacha Stadium after completing sanctions imposed over crowd disturbances during an NPFL fixture against Shooting Stars on October 12, 2025. The Committee upheld most penalties but reduced an indefinite closure to five matches, allowing a return after Matchday 18.
Findings showed poor security, pitch invasions and assaults on players and officials, leading to fines, compensations and a three-point, three-goal deduction.
Katsina United were also sanctioned over crowd trouble against Barau FC, fined ₦3,000,000 and given a concurrent five-match ban. They will return home after Matchday 21, while both clubs retain the right of appeal formally.
