Bayern Munich make official move for Egyptian teen talent Hamza Abdelkarim

Negotiations are ongoing between Egyptian giants Ahly and Spanish powerhouse Barcelona over young striker Hamza Abdelkarim, as the Catalan club pushes to sign him in the upcoming January transfer window.

Barcelona have shown clear interest in taking the 17-year-old to La Masia on loan, with an option to buy included in the agreement.

According to the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Ahly have recently raised their financial demands to approve the deal. The club is willing to let Abdelkarim join Barcelona on a free loan until the end of the season, but wants 5 million euros if the option to buy is activated, including performance-related bonuses based on his goals and contribution.

The report added: “This amount can be paid in installments, with Ahly also seeking a financial bonus at the end of the loan if Abdelkarim performs well for Barca, even if the club does not trigger the purchase option.” Ahly now wait for Barcelona’s official response; if the new terms are rejected, the Cairo club will ask to include a sell-on clause guaranteeing a percentage from any future transfer.

Abdelkarim caught Barcelona scouts’ attention at the Under-17 World Cup, where he scored twice against Haiti and Venezuela for Egypt.
