Tunisian Football Federation details FIFA funding and development plans
The Tunisian Football Federation has outlined the sums received from FIFA since the new federal bureau assumed office on 25 January 2025.
The Federation reported that closer cooperation with FIFA has strengthened the sustainable development of Tunisian football, reinforced governance standards, and promoted transparency across all operations.
This renewed partnership enabled the revival of several previously suspended projects after administrative and financial matters were regularized.
The Federation also secured new funding to support strategic initiatives aimed at long-term growth.
During 2025, FIFA approved several aid packages for Tunisia. In May, the national teams received $568,000, alongside $500,000 allocated to complete the Federation’s hotel.
November saw $1.5 million directed toward widespread VAR implementation, integrated into a national television broadcasting system for domestic competitions.
In December, $1 million was earmarked for a unified complex dedicated to national teams, with an additional $500,000 to equip the sports medicine center.
Looking ahead, the Tunisian Football Federation is preparing to launch a new four-year cycle of FIFA programs following the 2026 World Cup.
This cycle will prioritise digital transformation, infrastructure enhancement, and stronger governance mechanisms to ensure sustainable football growth across the country.
The Federation also confirmed ongoing consultations with supervisory authorities and FIFA on a major strategic project.
It emphasised its commitment to transparency, including the engagement of a FIFA-recommended financial audit firm to oversee project funding and management.
Tunisia’s football authorities view these measures as critical steps toward modernising the sport domestically, improving national team preparation, and strengthening governance practices, positioning the country for continued success in African and global football.
