Spanish outfit Sevilla are considering a move to recruit Algerian midfielder Himad Abdelli.

The Angers SCO midfielder is enjoying a strong campaign and, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, finds himself in a favourable position on the market.

From this winter, Abdelli is free to hold talks with interested clubs, and early interest has already begun to surface.

According to sources, Sevilla, who are currently competing in La Liga, are closely tracking the player’s situation and are considering a move to bring him to Spain next summer on a free transfer.

Abdelli’s season did not begin smoothly, as an injury forced him to miss pre-season preparations and the opening Ligue 1 fixtures. However, since returning to action, the former Le Havre midfielder has rediscovered his rhythm and has been producing a run of impressive performances.

Despite his resurgence at club level, Abdelli has been left out of Vladimir Petkovic’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The decision is understood to be linked to fierce competition in Algeria’s midfield, with the national team coach opting for alternative options for the continental tournament.
