FSF unveils 2025–26 Senegal Cup schedule with December kick-off
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has released the official programme for the 2025–2026 Senegal Cup, confirming that the competition will begin on 17 December 2025, with the final scheduled for 15 May 2026.
The announcement follows a meeting of the FSF Executive Committee, during which the full format of the tournament was approved.
Clubs across the country, including Génération Foot — champions of the previous edition at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium — can now prepare according to the newly established timeline.
According to the federation, the early rounds will commence on 17 December and will feature a wide field of participating teams competing for a place in the later stages.
While the dates for each phase are now set, the FSF confirmed that the location of the final is still under consideration and will be revealed once all organisational details have been finalised.
In addition to confirming the Senegal Cup schedule, the Executive Committee addressed several administrative matters.
One of the key issues, the acquisition of league seats — a process delayed since the last federal elections — will be completed as soon as possible, the FSF stated.
The measure forms part of ongoing efforts to stabilise the organisational structure of domestic competitions.
The federation also provided clarity on the regional league championships.
These competitions, which serve as an important platform for local clubs across Senegal, will begin on 20 December 2025.
The FSF noted that the chosen date allows teams sufficient time to prepare, particularly those taking part in both regional and national tournaments during the same period.
Looking ahead to governance matters, the FSF confirmed that its next Annual General Meeting will take place on 11 April 2026.
The AGM is expected to review the season’s progress and outline the federation’s priorities for the remainder of the campaign and beyond.
The release of the full calendar provides clubs, officials and supporters with a clear roadmap for one of Senegal’s most anticipated domestic competitions.
With the defending champions preparing to launch their title defence and teams across the country gearing up for the preliminary rounds, attention now turns to the start of the tournament in mid-December.
