Noa Mupemba declares undivided commitment to DR Congo over France

Noa Mupemba speaks with clarity whenever questions arise about his international future.

The young Stade Lavallois striker states that his loyalty lies firmly with the Democratic Republic of Congo, even though he has not yet received an official call-up from the Leopards.

At 23, Mupemba continues to build his reputation in Ligue 2.

He belongs to Stade Lavallois, where he remains under contract until 2027, and currently plays on loan at US Avranches to secure more regular minutes.

Trained in France, he combines sharp movement, technical ability and a natural instinct in front of goal, qualities that have made him a rising figure in the league.

His progress at club level matters to him, but his heart remains anchored in the DRC.

In a recent interview, he spoke with conviction about his international allegiance. “Even if France called me, I would not accept.

I always wanted to play for the Democratic Republic of Congo, and even before I made that choice, my parents already encouraged it,” he said.

His comments reflect a personal decision strengthened by family influence and cultural identity.

Mupemba also expressed his admiration for African footballers who continue to prioritise their national teams despite global success.

“Why shouldn’t we give value to our national team? When we see great players like Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah, who continue to represent Africa at the highest level, why can’t we do the same?” he asked, highlighting his desire to contribute to the continental game’s growth.

Although no official call has yet arrived from the Congolese federation, Mupemba insists he remains ready for the opportunity.

He follows the Leopards closely and hopes one day to wear their colours, viewing it as both a privilege and a responsibility.

Rooted in his heritage and confident in his path, Noa Mupemba represents a new generation of African players who choose conviction over convenience.

As he continues his development in French football, his commitment to the DRC remains unwavering.
