Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat tight-lipped on Real Betis future
Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat is tight-lipped about his future at Spanish outfit, Real Betis.
Having arrived last September from Fenerbahçe on loan until the end of the season, the experienced Morocco midfielder has made eight appearances in the La Liga matches and 2 Europa League matches.
Amrabat is expected to return to his parent club at the end of his loan spell, with his contract expiring in summer 2028.
While expressing joy at Real Betis, the former Fiorentina and Manchester United star has left his future to the Andalusia side.
“I’m so happy here, it’s a great club. I can’t promise anything about my future because it doesn’t depend on me, but… why not stay?” Amrabat said.
The 29-year-old midfielder is expected to play a huge role for Real Betis when they take on FC Utrecht in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, he is expected to be included in the Morocco squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Since making his debut, Amrabat has made 70 appearances for the Atlas Lions and was instrumental in the foruth place finish at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
