Al Ahly coach Jess Thorup assured supporters that his squad is fully focused on their upcoming CAF Champions League match against JS Kabylie.

The team comes into this competition after a morale-boosting Egyptian Super Cup win and the return of several international players. “We always aim to win every match, especially at home,” Thorup told fans, encouraging them to show strong support.

Thorup explained that a packed stadium gives players an extra push to perform at their peak, and highlighted Emam Ashour’s strong training and physical improvement, saying, “Selecting talented players happens at the right time, based on readiness.”

He also discussed his habit of prioritizing youth and new talent: “Before joining Al Ahly, I always valued young players. Hamza Abdel Karim is an example, he trained well with us yesterday and it’s key for talents to prove themselves.”

Al Ahly’s coaching and medical staff confirmed several stars, including Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Emam Ashour, and Ashraf Dari, are fit for the match. Hussein El Shahat continues his rehab, and others have recovered from recent injuries.

Team captain Mohamed El Shennawy emphasized the goal: “Winning the Champions League is our priority, and every group game is crucial.” The squad is determined to start the tournament strong and show their passion on the pitch.
