Arsenal to consider €60m move for Morocco international Brahim Díaz in January
Arsenal are reportedly considering a €60 million bid for Moroccan international Brahim Díaz as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options during the January 2027 transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arteta has identified the Real Madrid forward as a priority target for the second half of the season and has proposed his signing to the Premier League club’s hierarchy.
The report claims Arsenal are prepared to pursue the deal to meet their manager’s request. However, no official bid or agreement between the clubs has been confirmed.
Limited playing time raises questions over Díaz’s future
Díaz has struggled to secure regular playing time at Real Madrid during the 2026-27 campaign, with his limited involvement reportedly raising the possibility of a January departure.
The 27-year-old Moroccan has made five appearances across all competitions, accumulating 198 minutes without scoring, although he has provided one assist, according to the reports.
His position in the attacking pecking order has reportedly been affected by competition for places, with Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior and Yan Diomande among the players competing for attacking roles.
If his opportunities remain limited, a move away from the Spanish giants could become an option when the winter transfer window opens.
Arsenal move could offer Morocco star Premier League return
A potential switch to Arsenal would give Díaz another opportunity to establish himself in English football after beginning his professional career at Manchester City.
The Moroccan made 15 appearances for City before joining Real Madrid in 2019 in a transfer reportedly worth €5 million.
A move to the Emirates Stadium could provide Díaz with the prospect of more regular playing time in the Premier League, while offering Arsenal another attacking option for the second half of the season.
However, the reported €60 million valuation remains speculative, and Díaz’s future at Real Madrid has yet to be officially clarified.
