Galatasaray intensify pursuit of Nigeria star Ademola Lookman ahead of winter window
Galatasaray have intensified their pursuit of Nigeria international Ademola Lookman ahead of the January transfer window.
Lookman, who plies his trade for Italian outfit remains keen about departure after missing out on a move during the summer transfer window.
However, the Turkish giants has re-established contact with Lookman’s representatives following an unsuccessful attempt to secure his signature in the summer.
Considered as one of the best African players, several Turkish clubs are said to be keen on securing his signature.
The 28-year-old had already attracted the interest of several clubs this summer, despite a somewhat subdued start to the season with Atalanta.
According to reports, Galatasaray is preparing a serious offer to sign the Nigerian striker as early as January. Atalanta, who managed to keep the player this summer, may now have to contend with very substantial financial offers from the Super Lig.
The 22-year-old forward joined Atalanta in summer 2022 and has since established himself as a key member of the team. With his current contract expiring in 2027, the Italian outfit could consider cashing in on the winger in order not to lose him on free transfer.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has had a modest performance since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign, making 10 appearances and scoring just a goal in the process.
Since joining the club, Lookman has made 128 appearances, scoring 53 goals and delivering 23 assists across the period.
