Atlético Madrid open talks over Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman transfer

Italian Serie A outfit Atalanta are open to the transfer of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman amid interest from Galatasaray.

Galatasaray have emerged as strong contenders for the signature of the pacey forward as they explore ways to strengthen their attack in the January window.

According to reports, the Turkish champions are eyeing a loan move with an option to buy and are hoping to use Victor Osimhen’s influence to help persuade Lookman to join.

The 28-year-old came close to signing for Inter Milan in the summer, but the move collapsed, leaving him still searching for a potential exit route from Bergamo.

With Galatasaray also struggling to secure a contract renewal for Mauro Icardi, the club is now shifting its attention to Lookman.

Several clubs are tracking the forward’s situation, but Atalanta are expected to hold out for a fee in the region of €55–60 million.

Galatasaray appear favourites to sign Lookman, but face strong competition from Spanish La Liga side FC Barcelona.
