CAF Champions League: Saint-Éloi Lupopo to host Al-Hilal at Kamalondo Stadium
Saint-Éloi Lupopo have settled on the Kamalondo Stadium as their temporary home ground as they prepare for a historic debut in the CAF Champions League group stage, where they open their campaign later this month.
The Congolese club secured their place in the groups after edging Orlando Pirates in the second preliminary round, with their first-leg victory proving decisive.
With continental football returning to Lubumbashi, Lupopo are eager to turn their adopted venue into a difficult stop for visiting teams.
Their usual ground, the Stade Frédéric Kibasa Maliba, has been ruled out after failing to meet CAF standards, prompting the switch to the Kamalondo Stadium.
Lupopo will now host Sudanese powerhouse Al Hilal there on 28 November, but before that, they face a stern early test away to South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their group opener on 22 November.
