FC Metz striker Habib Diallo begins a brief spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury that forced him to leave Senegal’s training camp and return to his club.

Diallo travelled to the national team camp after receiving a call-up from coach Pape Thiaw for the November programme, which included friendly matches against Brazil and Kenya.

However, he felt discomfort in his hamstring during club action and immediately withdrew from the squad to undergo checks in Lorraine.

FC Metz evaluated the injury once he returned, and the club delivered a clearer diagnosis on Friday.

Coach Stéphane Le Mignan explained the situation after Metz claimed a 4-1 friendly win over RFC Seraing.

He said Diallo sustained the issue during the phase of play that produced his goal against Nice.

The striker now faces one to two weeks of recovery time, depending on how quickly he responds to treatment.

Diallo continues his rehabilitation with the club’s medical staff, and Metz monitors his progress closely.

The injury forces him out of Senegal’s November matches and halts his momentum at club level, where he remains an important figure in Metz’s attacking setup.

The timeline places his availability for upcoming Ligue 1 fixtures in doubt.

Metz prepares for a challenging period, and Diallo risks missing the league meeting with Brest on Sunday, 23 November.

The home match against Rennes on Friday, 28 November also remains uncertain, as the club evaluates his condition daily.

Diallo aims to recover quickly while avoiding any setback. Metz prioritises a full return to fitness as the club navigates a demanding schedule.

The striker maintains a positive outlook, and the club expects him to rejoin full training once the hamstring improves.
