Yannick Ferreira gives Zamalek a last chance before turning to FIFA

Former Zamalek coach Yannick Ferreira has given the club a final warning, demanding full payment of his overdue salary before he files a formal complaint with FIFA.

After initially agreeing to forgo three months’ pay in exchange for prompt settlement of the remaining arrears, Ferreira withdrew that concession due to what he sees as a lack of commitment from Zamalek’s administration.

The club’s financial crisis has grown, with unresolved cases piling up and threatening further transfer bans if not urgently addressed. Zamalek now faces mounting debts from previous coaching and player contracts left unpaid, including a notable dispute with former Tunisian star Ferjani Sassi, which has accrued significant interest due to late payment.

Pressured by performance issues earlier in the season, Zamalek’s board dismissed Ferreira after a string of poor results and lackluster team play, believing a coaching change was necessary. But the club’s prolonged financial woes continue to loom, with ongoing disputes involving ex-coaches and unpaid players.

If Zamalek’s management fails to resolve these pressing obligations, it could face further penalties that may hinder its ability to sign new players, ultimately jeopardizing its prospects in domestic and continental competitions.
