Algerian forward Amine Gouiri begins recovery in Qatar
Amine Gouiri, the Algerian forward for Olympique Marseille, has started his rehabilitation at the renowned Aspetar sports medical center in Doha after a serious shoulder injury.
Gouiri’s setback occurred in a World Cup qualifier against Uganda, forcing him to undergo surgery last October. The injury was especially frustrating, as he had just begun establishing himself at Marseille and with the Algerian national team.
At Aspetar, Gouiri follows a meticulous recovery program managed by top specialists, and recent training videos released by the center highlight his determination and disciplined approach. Both the Marseille medical staff and the Algeria national team are closely monitoring his progress.
Although Gouiri’s participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations is doubtful, his primary goal remains returning stronger for club duties and World Cup qualification matches in 2026. A comeback with Marseille is possible by year’s end or early next year, depending on his recovery.
Despite this challenge, Gouiri keeps a positive mindset, motivated to get back on the pitch as soon as possible. His focus on hard work and patience fuels his intention to return to football even better than before.
