Super Eagles resume training ahead of Gabon clash after resolution of bonus dispute
Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong has confirmed that the Super Eagles have resolved their bonus dispute with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), bringing an end to the standoff that briefly disrupted their preparations for the upcoming World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.
The players and the technical team have since resumed training to continue with preparations for the crucial showdown.
The players and officials had earlier boycotted training in Morocco due to unresolved issues over outstanding payments and bonus structures. However, the situation has now been settled, restoring calm and focus to the Nigerian camp.
In a post on X, Troost-Ekong announced the resolution and assured fans that the team remains united and fully committed to the task ahead.
“Issue RESOLVED. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. Team is UNITED and focused as before on representing NIGERIA with our maximum for the games ahead!” the captain wrote.
