Bilal El Khannouss is a man for special moments – VfB Stuttgart Sebastian Hoeneß
Moroccan midfielder Bilal El Khannouss is increasingly becoming the face of VfB Stuttgart’s attacking play.
In their impressive 2-0 win over Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Europa League, the 21-year-old was a crucial figure once more, heading in the important opening goal. This goal wasn’t just a highlight, it showcased how much El Khannouss has developed under coach Sebastian Hoeneß.
After the game, Hoeneß praised his player: “Bilal showed here that he’s a man for special moments. He’s already scored some important goals. He always believes in himself and the team. In my view, he radiates an infectious conviction. He was also a factor in our pressing in the second half. That’s why he’s such a valuable asset to us,”
Though Hoeneß sees some areas where his midfielder can still improve, like decision-making in key moments, he’s not worried: “But another part of the truth is that Bilal had situations today where he can still develop further, also when I think about the Leipzig game. That’s an important combination for him.” The coach is very satisfied with El Khannouss’s overall progress.
