Galatasaray are considering a fresh move for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider, after failing to sign the Senegal international last summer.
The Turkish club are looking to strengthen their attacking options and have not abandoned their interest in the 28-year-old. Galatasaray are expected to approach Crystal Palace again as they attempt to revive negotiations for a player they believe could add pace, direct running and greater depth on the wings.
However, any renewed interest will need to be supported by an offer capable of persuading Crystal Palace to consider selling. No transfer has been agreed, and several issues remain unresolved before the winter window opens.
Galatasaray are not the only club to have explored the possibility of signing Sarr. Liverpool also made an approach last summer, with their proposed offer reported to be worth approximately 60 million euros. That attempt was unsuccessful.
The Reds do not currently appear ready to return for the Crystal Palace winger, a development that could give Galatasaray more room to pursue the deal. Competition remains, though, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League continuing to monitor Sarr’s situation.
Interest from Saudi Arabia could complicate Galatasaray’s plans, particularly if one of those clubs makes a substantial financial proposal. Crystal Palace would be expected to seek favourable terms if they decide to part with the player.
Sarr remains under contract with the Eagles until 30 June 2029. His annual salary is 4,348,684 euros (2,826,644,600 FCFA), while his market value is estimated at 45 million euros.
The winger’s future could therefore become one of the more closely followed transfer stories when the January market opens. Galatasaray appear determined to reopen discussions, but they must convince both Crystal Palace and the player if they are to complete the move.
Crystal Palace will soon face Tottenham in their ninth match of the English league season. The published betting odds list Crystal Palace at 5.60 to win, a draw at 4.60 and Tottenham at 1.53.
