'It means I’m doing my job well' - Lamine Yamal shrugs off Club Brugge boos

Barcelona teen Lamine Yamal demonstrated remarkable composure against Club Brugge, shrugging off home fans’ jeers to inspire a thrilling 3-3 Champions League draw.

Nicolo Tresoldi opened the scoring for Club Brugge, but Ferran Torres quickly equalized for Barcelona.

Club Brugge regained the lead through Carlos Forbs. In the second half, Lamine Yamal again leveled for Barcelona, but Forbs scored his second goal to put Club Brugge ahead once more.

A late own goal by Christos Tzolis ultimately salvaged a point for Barcelona.

“It’s not a coincidence that they boo me. If they boo me, it’s because they know I’m doing my job well. It doesn’t worry me,” Yamal, of Moroccan and Equatorial Guinean descent, said post-match.

He addressed the rumors questioning his emotions after the game. “People said I was sad or injured, but they were all lies. I’m fine, happy, and focused on my game,” he added, highlighting his mental resilience.

The young forward also fielded comparisons to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi. “Messi has scored thousands of goals like me, I can’t compare myself to him. I’m just trying to improve and chart my own path,” Yamal explained, demonstrating maturity beyond his years.

Yamal’s performance underscores his rapid rise in Barcelona’s senior setup.

Despite being only 18, he continues to influence matches at the highest level, showcasing both technical brilliance and psychological maturity.
