Frustrated Joshua Zirkzee bent on leaving Manchester United in January to secure World Cup spot
Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly weighing up a January move in search of more playing time ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Africasoccer can report.
The Dutch striker with Nigerian roots has featured only five times this season, falling down the pecking order behind Benjamin Šeško and Matheus Cunha, which has limited his opportunities under manager Rúben Amorim.
While Zirkzee is not pushing for a permanent transfer, he is open to a loan move that would guarantee him consistent minutes.
AS Roma have emerged as early frontrunners, with initial contact already established, while West Ham United and PSV Eindhoven are also keeping close tabs on the situation.
As of now, Zirkzee has not held formal discussions with Manchester United regarding his future, though talks are expected in November.
Despite his limited appearances, Amorim reportedly still values Zirkzee as a useful squad option and could block any potential loan unless a suitable replacement is secured before the January window closes.
