‘Beating Liverpool three times in one season is unbelievable’ – French-Senegalese Jaydee Canvot
Crystal Palace’s French-Senegalese defender Jaydee Canvot described his club’s remarkable dominance over Liverpool this season as “crazy” after their 3–0 Carabao Cup win at Anfield.
The 19-year-old fullback played a key role as Palace secured a third victory over Liverpool this campaign, a result that took the Eagles into the quarterfinals.
Canvot continues to make a name for himself as one of Palace’s emerging defensive talents.
“It was perfect. The game was crazy, the stadium was crazy, the fans were crazy,” Canvot told reporters after the match.
“We have a very good team, so we help each other and that’s it. All the team were good, we have a good spirit, everybody did everything well, and we won, so I’m happy and everybody’s happy.”
Canvot was especially struck by the magnitude of Palace’s achievement at Anfield.
“To win like that is crazy at Anfield, you know. We’ve played three times in Liverpool this season and we won three times, so I hope we keep going like this,” he added.
Palace manager Oliver Glasner has now beaten Liverpool in the Community Shield, Premier League, and Carabao Cup, solidifying his side’s reputation as fierce competitors.
Goals from Ismaila Sarr (2) and Yeremy Pino sealed the latest win, while Liverpool’s night worsened after Amara Nallo was sent off late in the game.
Glasner’s decision to field a strong team contrasted sharply with Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who made 10 changes to his lineup.
The young Reds were overpowered by a confident and clinical Palace side that punished every defensive lapse.
The result deepened Liverpool’s poor run, extending their winless streak to six matches in all competitions.
For Palace, however, it represented another statement of intent—an affirmation that their progress under Glasner is built on grit, unity, and belief.
