The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will conduct the group stage draws for both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup on Monday, November 3, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Confederation Cup draw will start at 12:00 p.m., followed by the Champions League draw at 1:00 p.m. CAF confirmed that all logistics and preparations for the ceremony are complete, setting the stage for an exciting phase of African club football.
The Champions League draw will include top clubs such as Espérance de Tunis of Tunisia, Egyptian giants Al Ahly, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, and Tanzania’s Simba SC.
Also joining them are Al Hilal from Sudan, Young Africans from Tanzania, MC Alger of Algeria, AS FAR of Morocco, and Rivers United of Nigeria.
Atlético Petroleos de Luanda of Angola, JS Kabylie of Algeria, Power Dynamos of Zambia, FC Saint Eloi Lupopo from DR Congo, and Stade Malien of Mali will also take part. The final two slots will go to either Pyramids FC of Egypt or Insurance Company of Ethiopia, and RS Berkane of Morocco or Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya.
The Confederation Cup draw will feature Chabab Riadhi Belouizdad and USM Alger from Algeria, Wydad Casablanca, OC Safi from Morocco, Egypt’s Zamalek and Al Masry, and South African sides Stellenbosch and Kaizer Chiefs.
Other participants include Djoliba AC of Mali, AS Maniema from DR Congo, Singida Black Stars and Azam FC from Tanzania, FC San Pedro of Ivory Coast, AS Otoho of Congo, Zesco United of Zambia, and Nairobi United of Kenya.
CAF also released the schedule for the six matchdays of the group stage. The opening round will run from November 21 to 23, followed by the second round from November 28 to 30.
Fixtures will resume after the New Year with the third round on January 23 to 25, the fourth from January 30 to February 1, the fifth from February 6 to 8, and the final round from February 13 to 15.
The draws will determine which clubs advance to the knockout phase as the road to continental glory intensifies.
