Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly are reportedly set to part ways with Moroccan defender Achraf Dari during the upcoming winter transfer window, following a frustrating spell plagued by injuries.

Dari, who joined the Cairo-based giants in the summer of 2024 on a four-year deal running until June 2028, has struggled for consistency due to recurring fitness issues that have limited his involvement in both the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Champions League.

According to local reports, the former Brest centre-back has turned down an offer from a Libyan club, insisting he will only leave if Al Ahly pay the full value of his contract.

The club is now exploring possible solutions, which include loaning him to a Moroccan side or selling him to a club in the Gulf region, a move that could mirror Reda Slim’s loan to FAR Rabat, with Al Ahly continuing to cover part of the player’s wages. Sources also claim that the club had earlier considered a Saudi move for the defender.

A decisive meeting regarding Dari’s future is expected to take place after the Egyptian Super Cup, scheduled from 6 to 9 November in Abu Dhabi. During the talks, Al Ahly officials will reportedly assess the player’s fitness level, contract situation, and the team’s reinforcement needs in other areas.

Historically, Moroccan players have shied away from moves to Libya amid the country’s instability, a trend dating back to the 2011 revolution, the 2014 civil war, and renewed clashes in Tripoli between 2019–20 and May 2025, all of which prompted several Moroccan professionals to leave for safety.
