Everton to consider loan offers for Moroccan youngster Adam Aznou in January
Premier League outfit Everton are reportedly open to sending Moroccan left-back Adam Aznou out on loan during the upcoming January transfer window.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Toffees from Bayern Munich last summer, has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Goodison Park.
A combination of fitness setbacks and competition for places has limited his involvement, with the youngster featuring for only 171 minutes with the club’s under-21 side this season.
Manager David Moyes has praised Aznou’s potential but admitted the teenager is “not yet ready to challenge Vitalii Mykolenko” for the starting role.
“He’s a really good footballer,” Moyes said. “But he needs time to develop his physicality and gain experience.”
Everton paid around $10.5 million for the teenager, with Moyes describing him as a long-term investment.
Everton see a temporary move as the ideal way to accelerate his development, allowing him to secure regular minutes and adapt to senior-level football.
The club is reportedly considering offers from teams capable of providing a nurturing environment for the young defender.
Several Spanish sides have expressed interest, with Getafe CF currently leading the race. The La Liga side nearly signed Aznou in the summer, but negotiations broke down over a purchase clause.
With Mykolenko cemented as first choice, a loan spell is seen as the best route for Aznou to gain valuable match experience, maintain fitness, and strengthen his bid for a spot in Morocco’s squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
