The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a list of some of the continent’s top referees selected for an elite training camp in Cairo, Egypt, from November 8 to 13.

The program aims to sharpen the officials’ fitness, match management, and decision-making skills ahead of major CAF competitions.

Among those invited for the intensive session are Peter Waweru of Kenya, Somalia’s Omar Artan, Ghana’s Daniel Laryea, Dahane Beida from Mauritania, Mustapha Ghorbal of Algeria, Abongile Tom of South Africa, Egypt’s Amin Omar, and Issa Sy of Senegal, alongside several other leading referees from across Africa.

CAF noted that the training will also involve Video Match Officials (VMOs), instructors, VAR staff, and members of its Referees Committee.

The Cairo camp forms part of CAF’s broader preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be hosted by Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
