PSG under intense pressure to extend contract of Franco-Malian star Ousmane Dembélé
French giants Paris Saint Germain have come under intense pressure to extend contract of France international of Malian and Senegalese descent, Ousmane Dembélé.
Dembele joined the French outfit in summer 2023 and has since established himself as a key member of the team, playing an instrumental role in the club’s Champions League success last season.
With his contract expiring in 2028, the reigning Champions League holders has moved to extend Dembele’s contract.
Dembele, recently crowned Ballon d’Or 2025 winner is at the centre of new tension between his camp and Paris Saint-Germain, despite a spectacular previous season that fully justified his triumph.
According to reports, representatives of the French winger are pushing PSG to significantly increase Dembélé’s salary before agreeing a new seal.
Meanwhile, the French outfit is open to a raise but are refusing to elevate his wages to the level once enjoyed by Neymar, Kylian Mbappe or Lionel Messi during their time in Paris.
Currently, negotiations between both parties have increasingly grown tense over salary demands.
As previously reported, one of Dembélé’s key demands is a pay rise from his current €18 million per year.
Dembélé joined PSG from Barcelona in 2023 for €50 million. Since then, Ousmane has featured in 99 matches for PSG, netting 43 goals and providing 32 assists.
Last season, Dembélé lifted the Champions League trophy with PSG and recently claimed his first-ever Ballon d’Or.
