2025 Africa Cup of Nations: Everything supporters need to know about in Morocco

Ticket sales for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) officially went live in Morocco on October 14, following two failed launch attempts marred by technical glitches.

Within the first 24 hours, organizers reported that fans had snapped up 137,250 tickets out of the initial 400,000 released for sale.

Morocco is set to host Africa’s premier football competition in a few weeks’ time, and anticipation among local and international supporters remains high.

Originally, ticket sales were slated to begin on September 25, but persistent bugs and system failures forced a postponement. A second attempt on October 13 also faltered due to similar issues, leaving many fans frustrated. The system was finally stabilized the following day, allowing eager supporters to secure their seats.

In a statement, the Organizing Committee explained that the 400,000 tickets form part of the first sales phase, representing one-third of the total tickets for all 52 matches of the tournament. Two additional phases are planned — the second will open on October 25, and the final phase on November 25.

Fans must obtain a FanID via the Yalla app before purchasing tickets. As of Wednesday afternoon, the app had received 211,078 FanID applications, with 170,350 already issued, including 43,865 to international fans from 124 countries.

Each FanID holder is entitled to buy just one ticket per match, with sales conducted exclusively through the official website.
