Libyan teenager Almugera Kabar keen on Dortmund departure in January window amid EPL interest
Germany-born teenager of Libyan descent, Almugera Kabar, is interested in playing in the English Premier League should he leave Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year-old left-back has yet to feature in a competitive game for Dortmund’s senior team this season, and frustration over his lack of opportunities has prompted him to explore options elsewhere.
According to transfer insider Ruhr Nachrichten, Kabar is contemplating a winter exit due to limited prospects in Dortmund’s first team. The talented full-back is said to favour a move to England, where Brentford and three other Premier League clubs have expressed interest.
The report adds that Kabar informed Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl of his intentions two weeks ago.
He reportedly prefers either a permanent transfer or a loan deal with an option to buy, as he sees little value in a short-term loan without guaranteed playing time.
Kabar, whose contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until June 2028, is regarded as one of the club’s promising academy products.
However, with stiff competition for places at left-back, a move to England could offer the teenager the breakthrough he’s been seeking.
