Walid Sadi attends CAF General Assembly in Kinshasa

Algerian Football Federation president Walid Sadi has travelled to Kinshasa to attend the 47th Ordinary General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The federation confirmed Sadi’s participation in a statement on Sunday.

He arrived in the Congolese capital alongside Secretary General Nadir Bouznad ahead of the high-level meeting scheduled for Monday, 6 October 2025.

The assembly brings together leaders from across the continent to discuss key matters shaping African football’s future.

It serves as a major platform for strategic decisions, policy discussions, and coordination among member associations.

Sadi’s presence highlights Algeria’s continued involvement in continental football affairs and its commitment to contributing to CAF’s long-term development goals.

As president of the FAF, he plays an active role in representing Algeria’s interests while collaborating with fellow leaders to strengthen the sport across Africa.

On the sidelines of the main assembly, Sadi also attended a meeting of the North African Football Union (UNAF) on Sunday, 5 October.

The gathering brought together top officials from member federations to review competition plans and strengthen regional cooperation.

Discussions focused on the calendar of upcoming tournaments, including the under-18 competition scheduled to take place in Algeria in December.

This tournament aims to promote youth football development and provide a platform for emerging talents in the region.

The UNAF meeting also offered an opportunity for federations to coordinate their positions ahead of the CAF assembly.

Collaborative discussions ensured that North African football interests would be represented effectively during the wider continental deliberations.

The CAF General Assembly remains one of the most significant annual gatherings in African football.

It provides a forum for evaluating past achievements, addressing challenges, and setting new priorities for the game’s future.

Through his active participation, Sadi underlines Algeria’s ambition to play a leading role in shaping football’s evolution on the continent.

His involvement in both CAF and UNAF meetings reflects Algeria’s strategy to engage at every level of decision-making and reinforce its influence in African football governance.
