German giants Bayern Munich have reportedly negotiated a five-year deal with Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson.

The Bundesliga champions secured Jackson’s services on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day. His deal initially included a €65 million purchase obligation, which would only be activated if he made 40 starts across the Bundesliga and Champions League this season.

Speaking on Doppelpass, Bayern’s Honorary President Uli Hoeneß had downplayed the likelihood of that condition being met, suggesting fans “don’t need to worry” about the clause being triggered automatically.

However, according to Bild, Bayern appear keen to keep the 24-year-old beyond this season. Reports indicate that the Bavarians have already negotiated a long-term contract with Jackson’s camp, demonstrating their confidence in his potential to lead the attack in the years ahead.

The club could choose to activate the €65 million buyout clause even without the required 40 appearances, securing Jackson before other suitors enter the race. Alternatively, Bayern may attempt to renegotiate with Chelsea to bring down the fee.

The future of the attacker would become clearer next summer.
