Kuwait SC parts ways with Sam Morsy after short spell
Kuwait SC has ended its contract with Egyptian midfielder Sam Morsy by mutual consent after just three rounds of the Kuwaiti Premier League.
The decision came only weeks after Morsy arrived from English side Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window.
The 34-year-old’s stint with Kuwait SC never settled, with frustration reaching its peak on Sunday when he was sent off against Al Arabi in a tense third-round clash. Fans were hopeful his experience would bring control and drive to the midfield, but the club felt his performances fell short of expectations.
“Kuwait SC terminated the contract of Egyptian player Sam Morsy by mutual consent, after only three rounds of the Kuwaiti Premier League,” the club confirmed.
With the departure now official, Kuwait SC is expected to move quickly in the market to strengthen the squad before the window shuts. Despite the off-field setback, the team currently leads the league standings with seven points after drawing 1-1 against Al Arabi, holding momentum in what has been a strong start to the campaign.
