Algerian right-back Rafik Belghali impresses in Hellas Verona draw with Juventus

Rafik Belghali delivered a standout performance as Hellas Verona held Juventus to a 1-1 draw, further underlining his growing reputation in Serie A.

The 23-year-old Algerian right-back, who had already caught the eye in Verona’s previous outing against Cremonese, once again rose to the occasion on Sunday evening, excelling both defensively and in attack.

Juventus began strongly and took the lead in the 19th minute through Conceição, setting the tone for what looked like a difficult night for Verona.

While Orban was unable to convert, Belghali’s vision and execution were a constant threat to the Turin defence.

The match ended level, with Juventus unable to reclaim their advantage despite periods of dominance.
