Egyptian striker Mohamed Yasser joins Sigma Olomouc from Al-Ahly
Egyptian forward Mohamed Yasser Nour has left Al-Ahly of Cairo to sign a two-year contract with Czech club Sigma Olomouc.
The move, confirmed during the current transfer window, marks a return to familiar ground for the 24-year-old, who previously enjoyed a loan spell in the Czech league.
The striker arrives in Olomouc determined to relaunch his career after a challenging period spent training individually.
Having maintained his fitness away from competitive football, Yasser expressed his delight at re-entering a professional set-up where he can train collectively, compete for selection, and regain rhythm at club level.
Speaking upon the completion of the deal, Yasser emphasised both his readiness and his optimism. “I am prepared physically and mentally to contribute immediately,” he said. “Being back in a team environment after months of working alone is a huge motivation, and I am eager to adapt quickly to my new club.”
Sigma Olomouc’s sporting director, Ladislav Minář, highlighted the practical hurdles that accompanied the move.
He explained that while the transfer was largely straightforward, administrative delays related to visa procedures required patience before the final agreement could be completed.
Minář also acknowledged that the player will need time to settle, but pointed to Yasser’s past experience in the Czech league as a valuable advantage in ensuring a smooth transition.
That earlier spell came with Teplice, where Yasser registered 56 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists.
His record demonstrated not only his ability to find the net but also his effectiveness in contributing to build-up play and creating opportunities for teammates.
Sigma believe these qualities make him a strong addition to their attacking options, providing both depth and versatility in the forward line.
For Yasser, the move represents a chance to re-establish himself in European football after his departure from Al-Ahly, one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
Though competition for places limited his role in Cairo, he arrives in Olomouc with a clear opportunity to claim a regular starting position and become an integral figure in the team’s offensive plans.
Fans of Sigma Olomouc have welcomed the signing with anticipation, hopeful that the Egyptian international can add both productivity and dynamism to the squad.
The coaching staff, meanwhile, view him as an important long-term investment, capable of shaping the attack over the coming seasons.
His pace, movement, and awareness inside the penalty area are qualities the club believes will elevate their overall approach in the final third.
Yasser’s integration into the squad will be closely monitored in the weeks ahead.
The management is confident that his combination of experience in Czech football and renewed determination will enable him to adapt swiftly to the tactical demands of the side.
If successful, his contribution could prove decisive in boosting the team’s ambitions this season.
For now, Sigma Olomouc’s focus is on embedding their new arrival into training sessions and preparing him for competitive action as quickly as possible.
Both the club and the player share a clear goal: to ensure Mohamed Yasser Nour not only settles in seamlessly but also emerges as a central pillar in their attacking structure.
As the campaign unfolds, much attention will be placed on how the Egyptian forward translates his potential into consistent performances, with Sigma confident that his signing will pay dividends on the pitch.
