Ismail Youssef believes Yannick Ferreira faces a real test against Nabil El Kouki
Ismail Youssef, Zamalek legend and former board member, has voiced his doubts about coach Yannick Ferreira as the White Knights prepare for a tough clash with Al Masry.
Youssef made clear that the Belgian coach has not yet reached the level expected by fans and club insiders.
In a Friday television interview, Youssef said: “I was impressed by the experience of John Edward, the sporting director, and the players, and I hope the team will stabilize in the coming period.”
His words reflected both hope and caution as Zamalek search for consistency. With pressure rising ahead of tomorrow’s fixture, Youssef admitted that Ferreira has not fully convinced him. He explained: “Yannick Ferreira hasn’t convinced me yet, and Zamalek’s performance could be much better, although tomorrow’s match against Al-Masry is very difficult, and there will be intense friction on the field.”
Youssef ended by stressing the challenge posed by Al Masry’s Tunisian coach. “Al Masry is led by Nabil El Kouki, a great coach with a reputation, so the match will be difficult. I believe Ferreira’s technical abilities will truly shine tomorrow, but it will not be his final test.”
