Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has reiterated his commitment to delivering the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations trophy on home soil, urging fans to believe in the Atlas Lions’ quest for continental glory.

The host nation has been drawn in Group A alongside Comoros, Mali and Zambia, with the tournament set to kick off in December.

“We are the leading contenders for the title, and we have no excuses,” Regragui declared.

“I will take full responsibility for the pressure and criticism, while my players remain shielded from it.”

Highlighting the team’s determination, he added: “We have the motivation, and with the massive support of our fans, we possess one of the key ingredients to winning the championship.”

Morocco’s confidence has been further boosted by their back-to-back wins in the Matchday 7 and 8 games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

On Friday, they became the first African nation to book a ticket to the 2026 World Cup after thrashing Niger 5-0.

The Atlas Lions followed it up with a solid 2-0 victory over Zambia on Monday.
