Tarek Al-Ashry backs Hossam Hassan and shares dream of Al Ahly role
Tarek Al-Ashry, the former Al-Ittihad Alexandria coach, has thrown his support behind Egypt manager Hossam Hassan, urging fans to back the national team instead of tearing it down.
He believes the team is on the right path and closer than ever to reaching the World Cup.
“There are those who criticize Hossam just for the sake of criticism,” Al-Ashry said in radio comments, adding that qualifying would lift the image of Egyptian football and inspire the domestic league.
Looking ahead, he highlighted the significance of tomorrow’s clash with Burkina Faso, describing it as a tough and special test. “Hossam Hassan carries the hopes of the Egyptians,” he explained, noting that Ahmed Nabil Kouka can step up for the absent Hamdi Fathy and Mohand Lasheen.
Al-Ashry also opened up about his personal ambitions, saying every Egyptian coach dreams of leading Al-Ahly. “I’ve loved Al Ahly my whole life, and that’s definitely a dream,” he admitted, while praising Emad El-Nahhas and calling on the club to give him full support.
