Al Ahly regain hope as key players return before Enppi clash
Al Ahly received a much-needed lift as the team prepared for their next Egyptian League challenge with confirmation that Emam Ashour is fit to return.
The midfielder has recovered from a broken collarbone and is available for selection when the Red Devils meet Enppi on September 14 in the sixth round of the competition.
“Emam Ashour underwent new x-rays to further reassure himself after the surgery he underwent in the US, and he is now ready to participate in the matches,” a club source told Kooora.
The source added that defender Yassin Marei is close to full fitness and should rejoin group training in two days. However, Yasser Ibrahim and Mohamed Shoukry remain sidelined for another week and will not feature against Enppi.
Moroccan defender Achraf Dari is also unavailable, with the source confirming he will begin a rehabilitation program in Cairo after straining his adductor muscle. His recovery is expected to take two weeks.
Al Ahly parted ways with Spanish coach Jose Riveiro after a 2-0 defeat to Pyramids FC, naming Emad El-Nahhas as interim coach.
