Mohamed El-Shenawy set to guard Al Ahly against Pyramids in league showdown
Mohamed El-Shenawy is set to guard the posts once more as Al Ahly get ready for their big test against Pyramids FC on Saturday evening at Al-Salam Stadium in the fifth round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The trusted goalkeeper, who returned in the goalless draw with Ghazl El-Mahalla, will be a key figure in Jose Riveiro’s plans as the Red Devils chase three important points.
From the last training session, Riveiro shaped his side around El-Shenawy’s presence. The lineup has Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Ramadan Beckham, Ashraf Dari, and Karim Fouad in defense. In midfield, Aliou Dieng, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane or Ahmed Nabil Kouka, and Ahmed Mostafa Zizo will provide control. The attacking trio includes Achraf Bencharki, Mahmoud Trezeguet, and Mohamed Sherif.
For Pyramids, coach Krunoslav Jurčić faces challenges with several absentees. Ramadan Sobhi, Mostafa Fathy, and Mahmoud Marei are ruled out through injury, while Mohamed El-Sheeb serves suspension.
Jurčić is expected to line up with Ahmed El-Shenawy in goal, supported by Ali Gabr, Ahmed Sami, Ahmed Tawfik, Mohamed Hamdy, Platini Toure, Mohand Lasheen, Walid El Karti, Ahmed Atef Katta, Everton da Silva, and Fiston Mayele.
