Senegalese forward Alassane Ndao is on the verge of extending his contract with Konyaspor, with the Turkish side keen to secure his services amid growing outside interest.
The 27-year-old attacker has made an impressive start to the new season, scoring once and providing an assist in his first two league appearances.
His strong form has prompted Konyaspor’s management to prepare an offer that would keep him at the club until 2027.
Göztepe have shown interest in the striker, viewing him as a potential reinforcement for their attack.
However, Konyaspor are unwilling to part with a player who has quickly become central to their plans and are determined to block any move to a direct rival.
An official extension proposal is expected to be presented to the Senegal international in the coming days.
Ndao’s performances last season were more subdued, with four goals and one assist across 31 appearances.
But his sharp start to the current campaign has convinced Konyaspor that he can play a decisive role in their pursuit of league success.
Having been trained at Dakar Sacré-Cœur in Senegal, Ndao began his professional journey in Turkey with Karagümrük before later representing Antalyaspor and Istanbulspor.
He made the switch to Konyaspor in January 2024 for a transfer fee of €150,000, and his value has since risen to around €1.2 million, as listed by Transfermarkt.
The club’s determination to extend his deal reflects both his recent resurgence and his importance in their long-term planning.
Retaining Ndao would also prevent him from strengthening a rival, with Konyaspor and Göztepe preparing to meet in the third round of the Turkish Super Lig.
That fixture adds further intrigue to the negotiations, as the Senegalese forward could face the very club reportedly eager to secure his signature.
His future, however, now appears firmly tied to Konyaspor, with the club confident of finalising an agreement.
For Ndao, the extension would mark another step forward in a career that has taken him from Senegal to the heart of Turkish football, and his early-season form suggests he is poised to play a pivotal role in Konyaspor’s campaign.
