UD Leiria have confirmed the signing of Franco-Cameroonian midfielder Albert Lottin on loan, announcing the deal through their official social media channels.

The 23-year-old will remain with the Portuguese side until June 2026, with no option to make the move permanent.

Lottin, who is valued at €200,000 by Transfermarkt, remains under contract with Spanish club CD Castellón until the summer of 2027.

The midfielder arrives in Portugal seeking regular first-team football after a solid campaign in Spain’s second tier, where he featured 15 times for Castellón in LaLiga2 during the 2024/25 season, contributing one goal and two assists.

A product of the Girondins de Bordeaux youth academy, Lottin has steadily built his career in Europe, showcasing versatility and composure in midfield.

His technical ability and tactical awareness have earned him recognition as a promising talent, and UD Leiria will look to benefit from his creativity and experience as they strengthen their squad.

For Castellón, the move represents a chance for Lottin to gain further playing time in a competitive environment, while Leiria secure a dynamic addition to bolster their midfield options.

The decision to structure the transfer as a loan without a purchase clause underlines Castellón’s belief in Lottin’s long-term potential, keeping him firmly in their future plans.

This latest move also highlights UD Leiria’s ambitions as they continue to reinforce their squad with young, technically skilled players capable of making an impact.

For Lottin, the loan spell offers an opportunity to adapt to a new league and further develop his game, while providing Leiria with much-needed depth in the centre of the pitch.

Lottin’s arrival is expected to bring additional balance and competition to Leiria’s midfield, with his combination of ball control, passing range, and ability to transition quickly between defence and attack set to be key assets for the club over the next two seasons.
