Raja Casablanca have secured the return of former defender Ismail El Mokadem, who spent the previous season with Saudi side Al-Ula.
The Moroccan giants successfully persuaded El Mokadem to rejoin the club, effectively ending talks with archrivals Wydad Casablanca, who had recently engaged the player in negotiations.
“A decision was made in favour of Raja, as the player chose to return rather than join our traditional rivals,” a club source confirmed.
El Mokadem will be officially presented alongside Al-Mahdi Berhama, another new signing arriving from the Kuwaiti league.
This move comes after Raja previously completed the signing of Xavi, who had also been in discussions with Wydad.
With these additions, Raja’s summer transfer tally has reached 12, marking a record influx of players for the Casablanca side.
