Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi proved their 100% commitment to Crystal Palace' – Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has praised Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi for demonstrating their full commitment to the club despite ongoing transfer speculation linking the pair with moves away from Selhurst Park.

Eze, who is of Nigerian descent, and Guehi, who has Ivorian heritage, have both been heavily discussed in the transfer market, with Tottenham Hotspur reported to be pursuing Eze and Liverpool eyeing a deal for Guehi.

However, both players featured from the start in Palace’s hard-fought 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Glasner insisted that performances on the pitch are the only true measure of where the players’ focus lies.

“I think the players are giving the answer week by week,” he said. “It was last week against the Community Shield, winning against Liverpool on penalties, and starting here against the Club World champions… it just shows that this is such a great group of characters.”

The Austrian coach was clear that Palace cannot control outside speculation but stressed the importance of unity.

“We have no influence on all the noise and all the rumours around us, but we know what we want to do, we know how we want to play, and this is what we want to show every single game,” Glasner noted.

He was also full of praise for the effort displayed at Stamford Bridge, where Palace held firm against a Chelsea side boasting significant attacking quality. “The players did great today and I think they showed that everybody is 100 percent committed with Crystal Palace, otherwise it’s not possible to draw here against a very good Chelsea side,” Glasner added.

Palace will now prepare for their next Premier League assignment with confidence that their key players remain fully focused on the team.
