Egypt forward Mohammed Salah becomes fourth joint all-time topscorer in Premier League history
Egyptian international Mohammed Salah has moved to the fourth place in the Premier League all-time topscorer lists following his strike against AFC Bournemouth.
Salah played full throttle of the match as Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 4-2 in the Premier League opener at Anfield, marking a brilliant start to the campaign.
The former Chelsea and AS Roma winger played a pivotal role by registering his name on the scoresheet to help the Reds secure an important home win over their opponent.
Ghana international Antoine Semenyo scored twice to cancel out Liverpool’s first two goals in the match. However, Liverpool stepped up in latter part of the match as they scored two crucial goals to secure victory.
Italian international Fredrico Chiesa restored the lead for the Reds before Salah sealed victory on stoppage time.
It was the Egyptian winger’s 187th Premier League goal, drawing level with Andy Cole in the all-time scorers’ ranking and moving up to fourth place. Only Alan Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213), and Wayne Rooney (208) remain ahead of him.
Meanwhile, Salah is the first player in history to score in ten consecutive Premier League opener.
The Egypt international won the Premier League top scorer award last season and will be hoping to defend the accolade this season.
