Villarreal CF B secure loan signing of Nigeria centre-back Chukwuma Eze

Chukwuma Eze, the 22-year-old Nigeria centre-back, has joined Villarreal CF B from Real Oviedo on loan.

The move keeps Eze in Spain but takes him from Real Oviedo’s LaLiga2 set-up to Villarreal’s reserve side, which competes in Primera Federacion – Gr. II. It is a switch between two Spanish clubs and gives Villarreal CF B a new defensive option for the campaign ahead.

Eze’s arrival adds a centre-back to Villarreal CF B’s squad, with the Nigerian moving after his time at Real Oviedo. The transfer has been recorded as a loan rather than a permanent change of club, meaning his immediate future will be with Villarreal’s second team.

The defender was born in Nigeria and is 22 years old. His move represents a further step in his career in Spanish football, where he has been part of the Real Oviedo structure before joining Villarreal CF B.

Real Oviedo compete in LaLiga2, while Villarreal CF B play in Primera Federacion – Gr. II. The change therefore involves a move to a different level of Spain’s professional league system, as well as a new club environment for Eze.

Villarreal CF B have completed the deal as part of their squad planning, with Eze arriving in the role in which he has been listed throughout his career: centre-back. He joins the club with the transfer formally registered on 17 August 2026.

The switch also leaves Eze’s previous club clearly established as Real Oviedo, while Villarreal CF B become his new side for the loan period. No permanent transfer fee has been attached to the move, which has been classified solely as a loan transfer.

Eze has now completed his move from Real Oviedo to Villarreal CF B and will continue his career in Spain with the Primera Federacion club.
